Barnsley Museums distribute wreaths to local communities

Worsbrough Mill and Country Park, one of Barnsley Museums' five free heritage attractions, hosted a wreath-making session with their dedicated volunteers in December.

Led by The Potting Shed Florists, the group of volunteers got creative and made several wreaths using a range of natural materials found in the Country Park.

The wreaths were then delivered to organisations across the borough for people to enjoy. They included Dove Adolescent Services, Barnsley Hospice, Dove Valley Medical Practise in Worsbrough, Chilypep, and Elsecar Holy Trinity Church.

They were a welcome addition to the organizations who appreciated the thoughtful gesture and the beautiful wreaths created by the volunteers, to be displayed throughout the festive season.

Councillor Robin Franklin, Cabinet Spokesperson for Regeneration and Culture, said: “The work of Barnsley Museums volunteers is hugely important to our heritage sites, and also our local communities. Acts of kindness like these bring people together and make Barnsley such a special place to live and work. We would like to thank all the volunteers who participated in this event and to The Potting Shed Florists for their expertise and guidance making it such a special project, spreading festive cheer.”
